Style Division: Brutal Glamour
By Destroyx | August 23, 2011

A little while back (actually some time last year!) I had the pleasure of having a creative play party with some of my favourite New Yorkers to shoot some promo photographs for my upcoming jewellery line. Steve Prue is such an enthusiastic photographer to shoot with and so much fun to be around, that even though the weather was sweltering the time went so quickly (and we managed to get some kick arse shots!)
The lovely Kristin Jackson was the hair stylist for the shoot. She is one of the most stylish people I know and has some of the coolest tattoos around (an entire Barbie sleeve!) and also happens to be a ridiculously talented hair designer. If you are in the USA you should try and catch her on the current hit show Hair Battle Spectacular on Oxygen.
For the shoot I was loaned an absolutely AMAZING corset by the inimitable designer Veritee Hill. If you’re on the lookout for a beautifully crafted custom corset she has some of the nicest and most creative offerings out there. Lastly I was loaned some super comfortable and well made latex opera gloves by Lady Lucie to complete the look.
All jewellery featured in this shoot was designed by myself and is a part of one of my upcoming A is for Arsenic ranges that will be available in the near future in a range of custom colours and studs.

That corset is absolutely incredible. In fact, it might be too incredible, I hope it doesn’t take attention away from your jewelry! Both pieces look fierce, I think I’ll be picking up some Brutal Glamour in the future. If only it weren’t metal, I would love to wear that with my new latex leotard.

wow. What a stunner. Love how the images have a contrast of strength and frailty, sensuality and brutality. Mmm… delicious indeed. I am so looking forward to your jewelry collection. If you don’t mind me asking, what eyeliner, brushes did you use in this one? They have a very clean look and I’m really trying to learn the art of eyelining…

What made this for me is actually the way you styled you hair, but I really liked that corset!
You look like candy.

What a straight “A” team! Love the shots, Steve, and Kristin! This was when you were last in NYC? Corset with Spiked Heart Necklace is fierce!

Deadly - just DEADLY!! Love the styling and the spiked heart necklace - and can’t wait to grab one!! Great to see your blog posts happening again too (I myself had a similar problem with time, and life being too busy to blog for a while). Look forward to more great posts :)
