Diary of Miss X: Egospit tour part 2

By Destroyx | June 8, 2010

The second installment of my photo diary of my experiences on tour with Ego Likeness. If you missed the first installment, check it out here.

DAY 3: Passaic, NJ: 28-03-10

A view of the dressing room a.k.a ladies toilet
The walls of the toilet were grungy, but I loved the vintage graphics collaged onto them.
I took snapshots of some of my favourite trashy articles collaged onto the walls.

View of the small, but fun audience from the stage.
Ego Likeness in action (with Tiger Towel in view to the right. Check out its’ facebook page!)

DAY 4: Travel day: 29-03-10

A pretty truckstop moment.
On the way we stopped briefly at South of the Border which I will be blogging more about this week.
Waiting in the lobby of our hotel in Savannah.

DAY 5: Savannah, GA: 30-03-10

I love the posters in the backstage area of the venue. I especially like the band name ‘Sinister Moustache’
Our backstage room.
Before the show.
The venue.
An abandoned supermarket opposite the venue.

Across the venue there was the amazing ‘Boyz II Men Barber Shop’. What a classy establishment!
The sign outside the venue. I love neon signs!
A fan made an amazing ‘Vena Cava’ t-shirt.
A view of the super fun audience from the stage.

DAY 6: Travel Day Savannah, GA: 31-03-10

On our day off, Donna and I commandeered our own ship!
Lobster Eggs Benedict for breakfast. Delicious!
Some buildings on the riverside in Savannah.

DAY 7: Pittsburgh, PA: 01-04-10

At a truckstop.
Cool street art outside the venue.

Outside the venue in Pittsburgh.

The audience from the stage. There weren’t that many people, but we had so much fun!

DAY 8: Richmond, VA: 02-03-10

Our backstage area in Richmond.

A snapshot of our crazy audience from the stage.
Our wild audience… the show was nuts!
Donna and I bought miniature sombreros at South of the Border. WOO!

Made of awesome list: Tiny sombreros UNITE!, scoping out the honeymoon suite at South of the Border for future kitschy adventures, finally realising it’s not important what people think, getting asked to design and collaborate with one of my favorite companies, having one of your musical idols buy stuff from your etsy store, planning future Berlin warehouse headquarters with space hopper racetracks, running around the East Village manically holding hands so tightly gripped, ‘cave man chic’ black metal bands, putting straws in Joey Letz’s hair, waking up with a huge smile on my face with ridiculous memories of the night before, heart collisions and midnight texts from pretty boys.

On the playlist: Echoplex - Nine Inch Nails, Atlas Air - Massive Attack, Forza - Zombie Nation (Fukkk Offf remix).

You are just precious! did you happen to get a shot of a tumbleweed while you were there? Thank you for having the balls to share your art! -Sadie J.

p.s. please come to Minneapolis! I will wash your dishes, do your laundry, or any other chores that you may have!

Diane- I know… crazy huh? Did you find out more about it?

Sadie- No tumbleweed photos I’m afraid… next time I hope. Not sure when I’ll be in Minneapolis… but we always need laundry done so I’ll take you up on your offer for sure. You’re too sweet!

Natan- Backstage rooms are always messy… well 99.9% of the time. Most of the time we’re in a closet somewhere.

Rebecca- The Tiny Sombreros were the highlight of the tour!

Oh and I NEED a spacehopper racetrack. I googled spacehoppers and found you can buy a track for them. AMAZING!

Awesome stuff. The little “Now we can all be guilt-free vegetarians” at the bottom of that article was brilliant! I still need to go to an Angelspit gig, can’t believe I missed London.
Also, this may seem an odd question, but is Surgeon X still running? I got confused by all the moving around and just wanted to make sure, because I was planning on ordering. :D

I cannot believe you were at south of the border, I was there not too long ago, and I almost bought a mini sombrero because it reminded me of your mini top hat, but I didn’t :c and it makes me sad that you were so close and I wanna meet you so bad! haha
