Miss X Cosmetics Division Mini Catalogue
By Destroyx | March 4, 2010

Above: Detail of promotional graphic

The cards have a makeup photo on the front and a product showcase on the back.
Last year I designed a series of promotional postcards to pack with orders as well as to distribute to our retailers. The cards can be appreciated by themselves or as a series, as they form a mini catalogue highlighting all of the various product ranges. Although some of the products are currently sold out, many of them are still available at Surgeon-x (Australia) and Black Pill Red Pill at 25% off as we make way for our new range.

Actual photos of the cards

I didn’t manage to get very good photographs of the cards (and they are in Australia not here with me right now), but I did manage to take 2 quick photos before they were distributed.

I have some of the cards :)
I think they’re beautiful!
I always think ‘I want to order some’ but never get around to it! =]
I always think your designs and graphics look amazing, though!

Wow, I adore your mask! Did you make it yourself or get it somewhere? I’ve been looking to get a mask for years now, but I can’t seem to find a design I like.

What a clever way to showcase your merchandise line, showcase your brand, and leave people with something pretty to look at. I’m sure these are a big hit!

Blitz- Yeah I wish I had some of them with me… they are all in Australia =) I really appreciate your kind comments, they are so encouraging.
Gally- I used to make really similar masks, but I bought this one from allycat metalware in the UK.
Ashe Mischief- Yeah I think they went well in a retail environment.. which was awesome! Thanks for all of your nice comments, <3 you!

Those are quite rad. I must say when I got my order I geeked out over the packaging. I am a bit of a packaging whore, when NIN did the super deluxe set for Ghosts I had to order it, and I tend to go nuts for little extras that are included with anything. So when my makeup and necklace came with extra cards and stuff, and in a cool metallic looking case it made me way more likely to order again. It’s the same reason I love Jello Biafra’s label, when you order from them you always get random, neat extra stuff.
But those mini catalog cards are especially awesome. They show off your line really well without assaulting the viewer with text and too much information. With the exception of the brush card each of them at first glance doesn’t even look like it is an ad for something, it looks like a somewhat abstract post card and that draws you in to wonder about what you are looking at if you just first notice this array of circles and eye lashes.
