Makeup Mayhem: Eyes on the prize

Eyes: Miss X loose eyeshadows and gel eyeliners. Debaser gel eyeliner was not only used on the eyes but on the eyebrows. Available from Surgeon-x.com (Australian based store) and Black Pill Red Pill (USA based store).
Eyelashes: Miss X ‘Dolly Rocker’ eyelashes (not yet currently available online).
Lips: MAC Ruby Woo lipstick (matte finish)
Face: MAC Studio Fix, MAC Select Cover-up, MAC Blot Powder, MAC Beauty Powder blush in ‘feeling’.

Lately I have been using Mac Prep + Prime which I find is working very nicely in preparing my skin for makeup as it seems to dry to a matte finish. Here I also used a MAC 187 duo fibre brush to apply my MAC Studio Fix which works very well in achieving a light even application of foundation. I also used MAC Select Cover up the darkness under my eyes and to cover up any redness on the face.
For the cheeks use a large blush brush to achieve a ‘barely there’ application of blush. I used a MAC 134 Large Blush brush which is particularly good because it is very fluffy which makes blending super easy.

Gel down eyebrows with brow wax or simply use hairspray (as I normally do!). Then using a brush with a sharp edge, apply Debaser gel eyeliner, drawing a sharp eyebrow shape that compliments your natural eyebrow shape. I decided to draw strong square ends on the eyebrows, but that might not suit you, so experiment with a shape that does.
Since the eyebrows are so strong in this look, I decided to slightly tone down the eye makeup, making it a simple smokey eye look with a dash of red.
Prime eyes first using Two Faced Shadow insurance or Urban Decay’s Potion Primer. Using an eyeshadow brush apply Black Alice to your eyelids. Next using a clean brush blend Coma (white) into the Black Alice. Lastly apply Diamond dogs (glittery white) to your upper brow bone for a sparkly highlight. Under the eyes, apply a touch of Car Crash Red in the inner corner and blend it in with a touch of Coma (white) outwards. Using an angled eyeliner brush and Debaser, draw a simple cat eye shape. After your eye makeup is finished apply false eyelashes.

Powder your lips first using your foundation. Then using a lip brush (I used the Miss X Flat Definer brush), carefully apply the lip stick; first lining the outer edges of your lips, then working your way towards the middle. I like using a brush with flat edge as it allows me to draw the lip stick on with better precision.

Love the makeup look! I, too, like the sort of bruised look the red gives to it. I should really try out one of your tutorials one of these days, you’re the only person who does makeup tutorials who I look anything at all like. So I always hope that it might work and look okay on me.

You don’t use your own makeup brushes?

Jenni - Thanks sweetheart!
Nubby- Aww… I missed blogging too, which reminds me I gotta finish that long email I started writing you.
Blitz- Dooo iiiiit…
Rebecca- Yeah.. I hate eyebrows too. I just draw them on and hope I can get them even =)
Plague Kitty - I think the red gives it something extra
Disposable Darling- Go for it!
Heartcorecuteness - I only used my makeup brushes for the eyes and the lips. Not all of the Miss X brushes are designed to be used for the face because I don’t sell foundation and blush. I have a lot of brushes from other makeup companies to see how they perform and because they have stuff which I don’t make =)

I love your work! Just out of curiousity, what kind of photography equipment you are using to take your photos?? (camera/lighting?/etc)

May I ask where your wig is from? Or is it custom made?
Also: still really excited about your forthcoming accessories line. :D

PVC Sadistic- Aww.. thanks for reading sweet heart
Bex- Thanks sweetheart! I try!
Avarine- Thanks!
Akatsuki- I use an Olympus camera (point and shoot variety)… it’s actually quite an old and crappy camera. I use a fluorescent ring light for the beauty shots.
Dee- I just customised the wig. I bought it from a party shop.. so it’s your regular white bob wig which I added black streaks too.

Hiiiii, I’m a little obsessed with you ^_^”
You made me want to do my makeup course, best time of my life, and I kind of just copied your hair cut, only with an undercut. And black.
You’re an awesome inspiration in so many different ways XD
