Makeup Mayhem: Madame Bones

By Destroyx | May 21, 2009

Eyes: Tormentor Eyeliner, Doll Parts, Black Alice, Confusion, Amphibian & Crime Pays eyeshadow, Two Faced Shadow Insurance, MAC Liquid Eyeliner in ‘Boot Black’ for the beauty spot, MAC Eye Kohl in ‘Smolder’, MAC Water Based Mixing Medium.

Eyelashes: Both eyelashes cut in half - Whip It & Purr

Lips: MAC Lip Gelée, MAC Dark Side lipstick & Tormentor eyeliner (as I didn’t have black lipstick on hand)

Face: MAC Studio Fix, MAC Select Cover-up, my own concoction of rose red blush.

Apply foundation with a foundation brush to get that ‘airbrushed’ look (I’ll talk more about this in my makeup basics post later on). Next use a translucent powder to set the base and minimises pores.

On the apples of the cheeks apply a circle of rose red blush. You don’t need to continue the blush onto the high cheekbones as we are going for a ‘doll like’ appearance.

Apply primer on the eyelids all the way up to the brow bone and under the eyes before applying the loose eyeshadow.

Using a small eyeshadow brush apply Black Alice (sparkly black eyeshadow) on the upper eyelid and around to underneath the eye. With a clean brush apply Crime Pays (metallic green) around the black. Next apply Confusion (lime yellow) around the green eyeshadow up to the brow bone, but do not continue to underneath the eye. Instead continue the line with Amphibian (olive green gold) and apply liberally to the outer half of the eye blending it outwards. Lastly apply Doll parts on the brow bone and the inner eye for a sparkly highlight.

To intensify the colour of the loose pigments, I used MAC Water Based Mixing medium to apply the powder wet, however water would work fine too. When the eyeshadow has dried (if you applied the colours wet), blend each colour together using a clean fluffy eyeshadow brush (start with the lightest colour first). Line your waterline with a black pencil eyeliner and apply Tormentor gel eyeliner on the upper lid.

Apply Purr false eyelashes to the outer corner of the bottom lash line and Whip it on the upper lashes. Here I decided to cut the eyelashes in half because it suited my eyeshape better. False eyelash length will definitely vary from person to person, so it’s important to experiment and see what suits your eye shape. What you don’t want to happen is for the eyelashes to make your eyelids look ‘droopy’.

For the eyebrows, use a very dark eyebrow pencil, or gel eyeliner (like Tormentor) and fill in the eyebrows with an angled brush. Use brow wax to tame any hairs that fall out of place.
.

Apply foundation over your lips and set with powder, this will enable you to draw a lip line which differs from your natural shape. Using a lip brush, draw a small cupid bow shape on your lips with a deep burgundy colour. Using black lipstick (or black eyeliner as I did, as I didn’t have black lipstick on hand) fill in the centre graduating the colour outwards, blending it in with the burgundy colour. Apply a thick layer of shiny deep burgandy lip gloss over the lipstick (clear gloss would work splendidly as well). Lastly using concealer draw a precise line around the lip shape you have drawn to prevent the lipstick from bleeding

Very beautiful, especially the way you did your lips. I like the gradation of them and the boldness.

Iva Sadon - I’m a leo.. could you tell? Some people tell me it’s a dead giveaway because of all of the animal print I wear. =)

helen- Thanks sweetie! It’s the first time I’ve done my lips this way and I’m happy with the result.

Esz- I don’t normally do green, but I’m happy with the outcome! =)

Alice- I got the necklace from a cool label out of scotland Kreepsville 666!

    Ash- Thanks!

djkittenmiss- I just had a look and it’s called ‘Moistly’ and I’m wearing it over ‘dark side’ lip stick.

I really like the green, and the bloody look of the lips! I think any color scheme would probably suit you, despite your not usually using it.

I love the lip make-up, the eye make-up aswell (maybe not together, but I still admire you for doing it) ^^

I’ve already done the dark red + black combination on lips, but it rather looked like a gradient: black on edges, dark red on most of the part of lips and bright red right where both lips touch. (:

    xoxo

The lips are fantastic! I simply love the effect, and that you’ve managed to make it even and wonderful!

Also, the outfit is very pretty. The stockings and the shirt are very pretty, as are the bottoms (shorts? knickers? Fantastic either way, lol). Brilliant as always.

I tried this out and I must say that it was fun. I really liked the vibrant green eyeshadow. I kinda had to improvise with some of the colors :) It gave me the inspiration to branch out and try some new things with some of the colors I have. I can’t wait until you add more makeup tips and hints. Love the lips :)

    P.S. I love purple

This whole look is stunning. I love the mix of black white and the greens. Not to sound odd but you have such wonderful lips! :)

I was also wondering where you got the wig from? I have a white wig but I really like the black tones in the one you are wearing here. Sorry If you have said already, I must have missed it.

    thank you

I’m, well, a newbie when it comes to applying make up and have only just learned how to apply eyeshadow.
I would love to be able to apply make up and look as gorgeous as you do. Do you have any tips for someone just starting out?
    thank you,
