Destroy-o-vision #3

By Destroyx | January 19, 2009

Here is the third and final installment of my video interview where I answer questions asked by Angelspit Forum members. I cover topics like where the name Angelspit originated from, what inspires me visually, my book collection, motivation, tour life, funny tour stories and my favorite musical gear.

Please check it out here if the embedded video does not work.

I very much enjoy doing video segments for you guys, and in the next few weeks I’ll have some fun and exciting programs in the works.

I think I lost the ability to focus after you said the word “Dodgy” ;D

This was a great interview, and I’m looking forward to going back and checking out the other installments!

It’s great to find out all of these things from you with your experience :) I know this doesn’t have much relevance to the above entry, but I found this photo in a book of Alexander Mcqueen for Givenchy, and it reminded me of you:

I love typefaces as well, but more specifically I love script tattoos. I have a book by Ina Saltz called Body Type:

I so completely agree when you say “there are some things that money just can’t buy”. Life should be an adventure- an experience! Too many people are caught up in the whole “keeping up with the Jones’s” thing. My partner and I just want to travel and create for as long as we live. As long as our daughter is safe and happy, we just want to have as many amazing experiences as we can!
Good for you for pursuing your dreams and living your life to the full!

and Thanks to you and Zoog for keeping Angelspit going! Id be so lost without you!
all of this was so informative and wonderful :)
    Thank you again!
Can’t wait for more, soon :)

I love Dita von Teese. I’ve been wanting that book for a while now, but haven’t gotten around to buying it. Can’t wait for more blipverts from you and Zoog! ^-^

Wow, that what a wonderful interview DX!

Shit.. i did not know tour life could be so brutal. i had never really considered how much time and energy it takes to get indie artists from one place to another.. or how people could not possibly like Angelspit… shows like that must be rough. just know that if you ever get bogged down with a crappy audience ever again, know that i am with you scream-singing your lyrics right along with you in spirit!!

I really enjoyed watching these, I’m going to have to look up the rest of the blip-verts! I’m so sorry to hear about the bad shows. That part made me a little sad. =/ To each their own though. Sometimes you have to go through the bad to get to the good though. You and Zoog make awesome music, so if you’re ever playing a show to a not-so-interested crowd again, I’m sure Rae won’t be the only one there in spirit! ;D

I love fonts, too. My photoshop used to load soooooo slowly because older versions would load fonts while it was loading the program. @.@ Ugh, that was horrible. Anyway, I thought I’d share this with you! Have you ever been to fontstruct.com? It has a cool little webapp you can build your own fonts in. I found this website a couple weeks ago and forgot about it ’til today when I was rearranging my favorites.. Don’t ask me how, cause it’s pretty amazing, if only for just browsing and looking at all the user creations. I think so anyway, lol. I might become as obsessed with checking this website as I am with filter forge now. @.@ Yay for user created libraries!

I have that Dita Von Teese book. It is amazing. :)

Ashe Mischief- HAH! I know… I say that word a lot, and nothing could better describe the film exploitation book I was showing =)

Murdercute1994- Thanks dude! I hope you got something out of it!

Twisted- Thanks sweetie for the comment!

Kari- I’m glad you enjoyed some of the stories. OMG.. that makeup is amazing, I’m going to have to use that for inspiration for one of my looks. I FREAKING LOVE IT!

Videokid- Awww.. that comment is the sweetest. That’s such a nice response. It makes all of the effort worth while! *hugs*

Lisa - I shall do more videos.. but I think they are going to be tutorials instead

Mademoiselle Baudelaire- Wow that book is amazing. I’ll have to try to get a copy! I’m glad I have found another type aficionado!

simi - I admire you for not giving into society’s expectations to keep up with the Jones’. I strongly agree with you. Life is most certainly made up of experiences, most of the awesome ones which you can’t buy! I think you have made a great decision for your family! Your daughter will grow up really happy =)

Blitz- I’d be lost without our supporters.. so thanks to you!

Ashley- Dita is a huge inspiration for me… I’m glad you love her too.

Rae- I love that you are with us in spirit. I’m going to remember that next time we have a bad gig. =) Tour life is hard, but it’s ultimately worth it. It’s hard as an indie band, but it’s nice to be able to have a lot of control.

Steph- Yeah, bad gigs are unfortunately a part of being in a band, but I think it makes the awesome shows really stand out. Thanks for that link to the font thing… I’ll have to check it out but I hope I don’t get too obsessed =) At the moment I have only used a pro program called fontographer, which is really awesome if you are interested in that kind of thing.

Daniel- My pleasure guys! I’m glad you enjoy… there are more fun things forthcoming!

Kara- I KNOW… I freaking love that book and look through it all the time. I’m glad you’re a fan of hers too.

Oh, by the way, I’ve ordered The Art of the Teese, after hearing a bunch of good stuff about it, and I love Dita. I skimmed through it at a bookstore, too, and liked what I saw. I’m excited to get it!

Ah, you need to totally come to New York so I can be one of those people in the crowd that know all the lyrics haha =D
