The Diary Of Miss X: 11-01-09

By Destroyx | January 11, 2009

This week has an exceedingly trying one for me on the personal front which unfortunately drew me away from my creative projects. You may have noticed that my blog post frequency dropped slightly, however next week I’ll be back to my five posts a week regime!

CAFFEINE FUELED WORK: I spent a lot of time this week working furiously on new concepts and production schedule for the new Angelspit album, photoshoots and videos. I bought this gorgeous hand made crocodile embossed patent leather journal with red deckle edged pages to house my ideas in. My karate Elvis mug kept me in good company this week.

RETAIL & READING: I haven’t worked retail for five years or so, but I had to help out in the showroom at work for a few days. At work I read this book ‘Deluxe: How Luxury Lost its Luster’ about the luxury goods industry, which I’ll be blogging about next week.

MUSSELS: I went out to the Belgian Beer Cafe with some of my best friends and ate a plate full of tasty garlic butter mussels. So tasty!

PURSE MAKING: I managed to fit the time in to sew some small satin kisslock frame purses which I’ll put up for sale soon.

SNAIL MAIL LOVE: I am a big fan of real life personal correspondence, so I was thrilled to find my friends from Baal Japan sent me some belated seasons greetings. I also bought this Andy Warhol cut out greeting card to send to someone in the future, though I love it so much I might have to buy one for myself!

NEW ART ACQUISITION: My friends from the band Ego Likeness (USA) sent me some incredible paintings (on the left of the photo) and books, which I absolutely cherish. My best friend Steph bought me an incredible Art Brut magazine (centre of the photo) from Paris and I bought this gorgeous painting from the Oh Really gallery for only $20! I can’t wait to hang all of this work.

SPRING CLEANING: My shoe collection was getting super messy being strewn all over the place, so I began to organise it in some of my red Ikea bookshelves. I think I’ll need to get 2 or 3 more in the future, so that I can fit all of them on there. I don’t have enough to fill a room like Emily Marilyn’s high heel room, but soon!

Those purses are cute too :) I recently bid on a heap of skull cameos like those on ebay, but the other bidder was too damn determined and outbid me! It wasn’t you was it ;)

k0mmissar- Hey wanna go there sometime? They have good half price specials! I’ll email you!

Simi- Hehe… those aren’t even 1/8 of my shoes =( I’m a bad person who collects stuff! Yeah, I’m lucky to have friends all over the world who send me cute stuff, I’m a mail junky really! I’m not going to be doing much more cameos in the future as I’m branching into laser cut acrylic instead, so I haven’t bought much in ages.. I hope you make cool stuff though!

i love that your blogging, its so interesting!!! Though 5 days a week will probably get insane eventually, its cool for the time being.

When you work on your album and artworks, what program do you use? Like the one shown in the picture of ‘working and blogging’?

    xxo

Mussels are some of my favorite foods…I love seafood!!

I really cannot thank you enough for starting this blog. Honestly, I just hope some of your integrity and style rubs off on me!!

For some reason, I had always thought you were a vegetarian!
Your purses look devishly cute… I can’t wait to see what more you can do in that department!

    Bittersweet12- Hehe… sure thing babe!

stF.ne- I want to try to do it 5 times a week… even if some are short posts and others are more in depth. It’ll make up for when I’m on tour and I can only post like once a week! That’s going to be a sad time. Anyhow, I use Adobe Creative Suite for everything really- photoshop, illustrator, indesign. They are the best programs for image manipulation, photo retouching, type setting and design.

Diana P- Ohh.. I’m glad you like mussels too! If you ever get to Sydney I can recommend a lovely place =) BTW I checked out your flickr and it’s great! I am so happy you are inspired by the blog, that pleases me greatly.

Leesy- I don’t eat meat that often, but do occasionally. Not for ethical reasons, but more because it’s expensive =) Yeah I love purses! I can’t wait to make more out of leather. I’m working on a screen printed range currently.

I’d love to have one of those purses! Your shoes are sick! I need to do the same with mine, they’re all over the place!

That’s so cute that you still like to exchange snail mail and that Warhol card is amazing! Shoes out in the open on shelves are the best….then you’re actually reminded to wear them!

Wow, your shoes are so pretty! And probably really expensive too…*cries*
But how do you walk in those? I can’t even walk in “lower” ones. If you happen to be bored, you could make a tutorial…*hinthint*

I like getting normal postal mail. I hardly get any tho. I was happy to get my Xmas gift from my online friend in Malta this year and especially your Angelspit goodies in my mailbox. Now I wonder how that Homo-machinery hoodie will fit in my mailbox tomorrow or Tuesday. O_o

Stumbled up your blog through being an Ayria fan, and I have decided to stop being a silent stalker! Love reading your blog, it has inspired me to start dressing up! You are definitely my new fashion icon! You are so stunning and gorgeous and wildly creative. I’m jealous! Where do you find your shoes? Any web recommendations? And I hope those purses go up for sale soon! I definitely want one!

Wow, impressive shoe collection! I’ve always wanted shoes like that, but I can’t figure out where to get them… well, figures being in a small Australian town with it’s main culture being surfing…

Where do you get yours from?

And those purses are gorgeous! I love making stuff too. Though its not as lovely as yours!

Stylish Thought- Shoe organisation is a must. It makes you really appreciate how pretty they are and makes you wear them out more because you notice them more!

Nubby - I totally agree. When you see your shoes out, you have them in your mind and they don’t get forgotten. I’m going to send you one of the Warhol cards… it’s very you!

Zenovia- I’ve been collecting for ages. I buy them from all of my adventures around the world, and I but a lot through the net. I will probably do a tutorial about the high heels thing soon!

Ravencroft - I hope your hoodie gets there soon.. I’m sure you’ll love it! YAY for snailmail!

Ashley- They’ll be up on surgeon-x.com soon, I’m glad you like them!

Rose - Yay for Ayria! I’m so glad you found me through her… she’s one of my bestest friends =) I’m glad you stopped lurking, because it’s so nice to meet new people! You can get some nice shoes from howcool.com and TUK.com (I think those are the links). They aren’t too expensive, and I got a lot of mine from there.

Miss Laurabell- I mainly buy my shoes from my travels overseas or through the internet, not around Sydney unfortunately. The internet is your friend!

Typhoid- It was a bit of a stressful week, but I got through it all! Thanks for commenting and I am honoured that you think such lovely things about me!

But other than that, it sounds like you had an interesting and damn hectic week!
    The purses are adorable!
When you put them up for sale, i might just have to buy one :p
and your shoes are to die for!
I love shoes, they’re the one thing I have more of than anything
But organizing them is a really good idea, since i can never actually find my shoes.
    Wonderful blog, as usual
and good luck with this week!

Seafood! Ok, I’m not a huge fan of that kind of food, but when I remind myself of the sunday lunch during my schooltrip to Spain…

I’m addicted to caffeine. The Elvis cup rules! xD
And of course the shoes collection… They’re to die for!
