Style Division - NYE 2008
By Destroyx | December 29, 2008

This outfit is more fiction than fact, because it’s the outfit that I wanted to wear if I went out on NYE… But sadly I wasn’t able to get tickets to see Boyz Noize so I don’t have any plans now. So here’s the outfit anyway!
I just realised this outfit is such an international ensemble, pretty much assembled from all of my travels. I’m also working on my vintage inspired hair. I need to buy some hot rollers or a curling iron to get them looking perfect because my hair is naturally dead straight.
Photography is by the wonderful Zoog. We took the photographs in the smelly backstreets where people dump their belongings. We found this fantastic but rank piece of checkered lino to decorate our street set. In the next few days I might put these larger photos up in my flickr account and a few closeups of my makeup.
What are you wearing for new years eve?
Leopard print puff sleeve jacket: Topshop (London)
Ruffly lace top (under jacket): Mango (London)
Tutu Skirt: H&M (Berlin)
Gloves: Agent Provocateur (London)
Cameo Bow Brooch: Made by me!
Shoes: Pleaser (LA)
Latex Eyepatch: Jane Doe Latex (London)
Art Deco Clutch Bag: Mimco (Sydney)
Garter Belt: Kiss Me Deadly (London)
Stockings: Agent Provocateur (London)
Umbrella: $2 from Daiso (Singapore)

Your outfit is stunning!
You look wonderful as usual
[and i want your shoes!]
I must admit I’m rather jealous of your make up skills, it always looks so perfect!
and I’m the opposite to you in the hair department, i wish mine was straight!
For New years in wearing a black and blue strapless handkerchief style dress i bought yesterday with my fishnets and boots
Sadly, i won’t look anywhere near as lovely as you!

I’ve cancelled all my NYE plans to spend time with my family, so I imagine I’ll be wearing something homely/ cosy as we’ve got no intentions to leave the house for like a hundred millennia.
Sidenote: I really, really like your weblog. Eagerly awaiting each post. <3

I love it! Steampunkcyberpirate! You should wear it anyway, even if you aren’t doing anything.

Murdercute1994- Yup! I wasn’t sure if I liked the outfit when I put it on… but I thought, what the heck! It’s a bit 80’s isn’t it!
Videokid- Thankyou! I got the gloves from the Agent Provocateur store.. if you can’t make it to london, you can get it from their web store but I think they only have pink/black http://www.agentprovocateur.com/masks-and-gloves/info/vincent/pink–black
Blitz- You must have lovely curly hair… I like my straight hair, but if I want to do rockabilly type hair, it’s a bit hard to tame because it’s too straight.
I only have makeup skills because I have to practice doing it a lot, you get pretty fast at it when you are doing it every night. I might do a post about some makeup tips actually if you are interested.
Oh.. and your outfit sounds sweet. I love handkerchief dresses.
Erin- Heheh… I will wear it, it would make me happy even if I’m at home watching DVDs. =)

I Absolutely LOVE the vintage curl in your hair. It looks fantastic! ;)

you have the most incredible style i’ve seen in a LONG time. seriously amazing!
on NYE i probably won’t be wearing anything more exciting than shorts and a singlet, a group of us are planning on taking a bottle of tequila (or two) down to the local beach and watching the fireworks from there.

Purr_Dee_Fae- Hey miss! Weee… you like my curl-o-doom! It’s new and weird for me, but new is a good thing. *squishes*
Gem- awww… thanks sweetie!
Your NYE plans sound really nice and relaxing! I wish I could do that with some friends, but navigating around beaches on NYE in Sydney is a recipe for disaster.
Videokid- I think if you are near an Agent Provocateur store you’ll have more luck, I actually think they may have discontinued the red ones last year, but I saw a few in some of the stores.

Wow! What a delicious outfit.
You should wear it, anyway, even if you’re not going out anywhere. At least you’ll feel pretty and festive.

:) My hair is about halfway down my back in ringlets :p
I love it, but it’s very annoying sometimes…
I see what you mean, though, a lot of my friends have straight hair, and it’s difficult to style
Make up tips would be awesome!
But i guess i should practice alot more too :)
why thank you XD
Im hoping it will work…
Handkerchief dresses are awesome!

I love the heels! They are so cute. Interesting clutch. Love the whole outfit, though.

Lisa- Thank missy! I didn’t end up wearing the outfit because I think that night I made a big mess in the kitchen attempting to make something! It was fun nevertheless =)
Ashley- Yeah I love the clutch, it’s kind of weird and reminds me of the 1920’s which is always a good thing. Thanks for commenting!

The whole outfit is beautiful. And I love how you’ve incorporated the leopardskin jacket into your look! Fabulous hair, too! =)
