Destroy-o-vision #2
By Destroyx | December 27, 2008
Here’s the next installment of my blipvert video interview where I answer questions from the lovely people who hang at the Angelspit forum. I talk a little bit about my personal life and what I do with my time, how I say ‘fuck you’ to the mainstream and about how to walk in big boots.
If the above video doesn’t work, please click here. To check out more Angelspit blipverts, click here.

Great Blipvert :)
Id love to know where you get your red contact lenses from? I asked my mum about them (She’s an optician) and she said you need to buy fitted ones for your eyes.
Also, i know you wear glasses and i was wondering if the lenses where just for show or if they worked like glasses lenses? I REALLY want some black and white ones :D

Kara- Thanks doll! Yup.. it’s important to get good boots! I would know, I’ve bought the poopy ones before,
Videokid- Yeah I got mine from the optometrist. Your mum should know where to get them from. I think mine were called ‘crazy eyes’ or something like that. I normally wear glasses, so my lenses have a prescription.
Yup, I wear glasses everyday! I’m an official geek girl.

Ok thanks :) I wear glasses too, sexy sexy black ones with white bits on ‘em ;D
Ill try ‘n get a hold of some, if and when i do ill show you pics :) x

Cupcake eating? Haha nice.
I remember reading on the forum awhile back that you ate a bunch of cupcakes with a band or somethin.
I love cupcakes too.
December 28th, 2008 at 5:57 am
Keith- Cupcake eating is an essential part of life! I love them… they are a main food group of mine. I’m glad you like them too!

Really liked what you had to say in the ‘Fuck the Mainstream’ portion. Totally agree with you and liked that you actually admitted that it’s something you weren’t completely over yet.
December 28th, 2008 at 7:32 pm
Thanks for another blipvert! Good advice about the boots. I used to fall in mine and now I can actually walk without tripping because I practiced everyday. My mom was annoyed by the thumping of my platform boots going down the hall though, haha. <3
With Love,
Ashley

A- Yeah totally! I mean I thought about my answer a lot and I realised that ultimately it’s other people’s problem if they aren’t going to respect you because of what you wear and what you do. I’m not sure if I’ll ever truly get over it because it’s hard to ignore people that yell abuse at you in the street.
Ashley- YAY! I love big boots. I’m glad you can wear them around now, that’s awesome!
December 29th, 2008 at 1:24 am
Hey Amelia thnx for the new blipvert it was fuckin cool!! and thnx for the advice about the boots X) i just gotta say your corsets are fucken awesome, do you design them yourself?
xoxoxo Rie Rie p.s. you and Zoog are fucken sexy X)
December 29th, 2008 at 2:10 am
Rie Rie- No worries sweety! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
My corset collection is diverse… I like to buy a variety of corsets from a few different people. I design a lot of them and get them to custom make them. I also try to sew some myself, but I must admit I am not a master at it. It takes a lot of skill to do a corset (and sometimes an industrial sewing machine too!)
December 29th, 2008 at 4:59 am
yeah. I too have got poopy ones before..they were so uncomfortable. I don’t recommend the payless boots to anyone. I regret getting them a few years ago. Now they are hidden in my wardrobe gathering dust.

Thank you for another wonderful blipvert!
Thank you for the advice on saying ‘fuck you’ to the mainstream, because i have so little confidence to wear the clothes i love and make me happy!
So I’m going to try and put your advice into practice!
Also, in general, it was wonderfully done, and also, thanks for the advice on boots :)
xx

Loved the advice about wearing what makes one feel good, regardless of what other people think. And like Rie Rie, I think your corsets are awesome.
And I really like your accent.
December 29th, 2008 at 11:41 pm
Blitz- Yeah.. I think confidence to be yourself is one of the greatest things you’ll ever discover, so power to you!
Emilie- Hehe.. you like my accent! I am a bit embarrassed by it, but hey, if you like it that makes me super happy.

I loved the part about wearing boots! XD I went to a rave and decided to break dance in 5inch platforms, that was tough!. I totally agree that wearing anything with increased hight , takes practice :D
December 30th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
Mugatu- Hehe.. oh no! Breaking in boots at a rave, that would have sucked! Even the best shoes need a bit of breaking in because the leather needs to be softened.
December 31st, 2008 at 2:00 am
Awesome I love your way of thinking.
That’s cool that you do what I do in spare time, but I do alot of drawing & doll making. but I do love to also make clothing & fake hair falls.
Lol I’m not good with heels(they hurt!) but awesome with platforms.
any advice with that?

Josie Ragdoll-oohh… drawing and doll making.. that’s fantastic! I tried making a doll once and it didn’t go so well!
Yeah I might do an article on how to walk in heels. It’s never that easy unfortunately.

Looking at your shoe collection makes me want to break out the Charade-05 I bought from your store years ago :D. Your look for this video…is it lolita inspired? That’s what it reminds me of! I’m a part-time lolita and love to sew huge puffy skirts. I love your wig @_@!
January 5th, 2009 at 4:19 pm
psyanides- YAY for Charade-05! My look wasn’t meant to be lolita inspired.. but somehow it turned out that way. =) I like lolita stuff though, but I wouldn’t say i’m a lolita because I don’t actually own that much of that kind of stuff… just bits here and there.
January 5th, 2009 at 9:54 pm
I love your music, but you also really inspire me to create and develop my own style from everything I see :)
I’m one of those people who would go around dressed up in their favourite clothes everyday if:
1. I owned enough amazing clothes at this point in time to last me through the week
2. I was not skint
3. I would not likely get jumped by a group of chavs
But if those three things weren’t an issue I would :]
P.S. love your top

Only discovered Angelspit probably not even a month ago, but you guys have quickly become one of my fave bands! Gotta give it up to anyone that thrusts their fists into the face of the mainstream. You know what, who cares if someone stares at you if you’re not dressed up in “normal” clothes. Who wants to look like your every day joe schmoe? How boring is that? Of course, there’s a fine line between rebellion and playing the part of rebelling. Go too far, then you just fall into the Cliche that Hot Topic thrives off of. Say no to the baggy pants with all those silly metal loops, and say yes to the boutique items that the wonderful Destroy-X is working on. Thanks for doing these videos, you guys obviously care for your fans.
Stay beautiful!
January 7th, 2009 at 12:52 pm
GvM- I’m glad I could inspire you! I wish that you didn’t get bothered by chavs… that’s so sad =( I hate them for being so mean and violent. I know what you mean, when we went to London… Zoog got harrassed by a bunch of teenagers and it was frightening!
Larry- Hey there! Thanks SO MUCH for your kind words. It means a lot to me and really does keep me going.
Hehe.. I think we all used to have the baggy pants with the metal loops! Thanks again for all of your encouragement.. I’ll try to say no to Hot Topic too!

Keep the style and sound underground! =o] With all the talent you possess, i can see you doing really great things.
January 1st, 2010 at 2:48 pm
Hey Destroyx I discovered Angelspit when I was in year 10 and still listen to you guys even today ,you guys inspire me and always will do .
I’m in a band at the moment and I always wanted to ask you how do you get that much confidence to go on stage and perform .
^^’ I cant even sing when people are in front of me when they arent there though I can and they always seem to catch me and tell me I should perform .
However its hard to just build up that much confidence so I really dont know wheter to just throw in my dream .
Also chavs are simple minded people who cannot tolerate others being different, talented and open minded. If you are its a treat to them and they will want to get rid of you.It doesnt get through to them that we all are humans and just a bit different from each other.Best to ignore them and avoid them I guess.
Hehe loved your advice about the boots and you look amazing like always :)
